Postpartum Issues Support Group

 

The Postpartum Issues Support Group is a one hour and fifteen minute support group led by Dr. Kira Bartlett, a Clinical Psychologist specializing in pregnancy and postpartum issues and parent-infant work and mother of three. The group will consist of mothers and their babies struggling with depressive and anxiety-related concerns associated with the arrival of their baby. The group will provide nonjudgmental support, education and coping skills for mothers to navigate this challenging time, while highlighting the positive relationship between mother and baby. Women will be able to share their stories, thoughts, and feeling in a safe, confidential environment.
 

Topics that may be covered include:

  • Coping skills for depression and anxiety
  • Treatment options
  • Attachment and bonding questions/issues
  • Importance of self care
  • Education about symptoms of postpartum mood disorders
  • Difficulties with partner
  • How to increase positive interactions with your baby


    Group meets every Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM
    Fee: $30 per session
    Begins March 12, 2010
