ICAN CHAPTER MEETING

Who should attend:

Anyone who had a cesarean Anyone who had a disappointing or scary birth experience for any reason Anyone pregnant, or considering pregnancy, who wants to lower her chances of having a cesarean Anyone who already knows she needs to have a cesarean Professionals who work with women during the childbearing years.

Three-Fold Purpose:

To lower the rising cesarean rate through education; to provide a forum where women and men can express their thoughts and concerns about birth; to provide a support network for women who are healing from past birth experiences and for those who are preparing for births.

Mission Statement:

The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).  www.ican-online.org

Meetings are the first Thursday of each  month,   7-9 pm, at Full Circle Family Care, 1241 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains.

Starting in September, ICAN meetings will be on the first Monday of each month.
