Childbirth Education Classes


Birth is a transforming life event. Barbara Du Pont's childbirth education classes are designed to help you understand this unique life event by providing information on the birth process and developing coping strategies for pain in labor. She believes that birthing a child is a normal, natural, instinctive process and should be treated as such. Her holistic philosophy of teaching focuses on the physical, emotional and medical factors that influence a laboring woman. Pregnant women and their partners leave her class series well-informed and confident.

Relaxation, Breathing and Massage Techniques
Labor Positions and Coping Mechanisms
Medical Interventions
Cesarean Prevention and Cesarean Section
Postpartum and Newborn Care
Breastfeeding
 

Wednesdays, 6:30-9:00pm, series class is ongoing.

Barbara Du Pont, Childbirth Educator and Birth Doula, lives in Pleasantville, NY with her husband and their three young daughters. At the age of twenty-two, Barbara was lucky enough to be present at the birth of a friend’s daughter. Watching how this birth naturally unfolded had a profound impact on Barbara’s approach to her first daughter’s birth ten years later. After the birth of her third daughter, Barbara decided to follow her passion for birth and obtain her certification as a doula and childbirth educator. Prior to her children’s birth, Barbara worked as a lawyer in Brooklyn, NY. It gives her great satisfaction and joy to inform and help guide pregnant couples to have a satisfying birth
